School Hours
Students: 8:00 am to 2:15 pm
Please do not have your student arrive prior to 7:30 am. Dickenson does offer a Morning Childcare Program from 6:30-7:30am in the cafeteria. The cost is $8.00 a week per child.
ARRIVAL: Car Drop-Off is in front of the school on the south side.
Drop-Off Procedures
1. Form a single line in the front driveway in front of the office.
2. Pull all the way to the end of the driveway before students exit car. Teachers and Patrols will be on duty to assist at 7:30.
3. Students must exit on the right side of the car only.
4. Do not park in the line.
5. If you need to come inside the building, you must park in the cafeteria parking lot along the fence line only. Park only in a designated parking spot. Please do not park in the grass or along the sidewalk.
6. Gates will be locked at 8:00am. Students arriving late must come into the office with their parent to receive a tardy pass.
EARLY DISMISSAL: We encourage you to try to schedule your child's doctor and dental appointments around school hours. If this is not possible, you must come to the main office to sign out your child. For your child's safety, students will be released only to authorized persons (i.e., persons listed on student's emergency card) In order to avoid confusion with regular dismissal, there is no early student pick up between 1:45 -2:15 in the afternoon
DISMISSAL: All students are dismissed at 2:15. Car pick-up is in front of the cafeteria.
Pick-Up Point Procedures
1. All parents picking up in a car MUST remain in the car and form a single line in the cafeteria parking lot.
2. Your child’s name, grade and teacher name should be placed on your right windshield or window so that personnel can quickly identify your car. This will move traffic faster.
3. Students will be held in the cafeteria until your car pulls up.
4. Do not park and walk up to the cafeteria. No child will be dismissed unless the parent pulls up in the car.
5. If you wish to walk your child home, please send a note to the teacher. Walkers are dismissed from the gate to the right of the office.
6. Under no circumstance should any parent park on the sidewalk or grass along Kelly Road.
7. Be patient; expect the pick-up line to be longer that usual the first few weeks of school.
After School Care is provided in the multipurpose room.
